You Are the Most Important

Self care and self love are two things that are talked about quite frequently, yet not a lot of people actually follow through. Especially in my generation, adults, friends, and family are always saying to "do what's best for you" and to "take care of yourself" and to "love yourself more" but what does that really mean?

There are many ways self care and love can be defined, varying from person to person. I believe that it's all about taking time for yourself, understanding and acknowledging your thoughts and feelings, and coming back to who you are. It's very easy to get caught up in what other people think, comparing yourself to others, and putting yourself down, especially in todays' society. But it's time to stop and reevaluate. The main point of it self care and love is the word "self." It's all about YOU! You are the one person who will always be there for yourself no matter what, so learning how to take care of yourself emotionally and mentally is very important when it comes to living a happy and healthy life.

Practicing self care and love can be seen in many different forms. Whether it be getting in your car and going on a drive to think about things, journaling, listening to music, taking a break from homework, eating that chocolate bar, or even taking three deep breaths, it must be for YOU. Do what you need to do in order to better yourself and your life, because in the end, you are the most important.
